According to CNBC, the highest rated malls in the United States have remained relatively resilient, however, they are losing their value. Their values have dropped 45% since 2016. This is significant in the retail space in the country because these A-level malls, collectively, hold the highest value of all the malls in the country. The largest property group who owns a big chunk of these malls, has experienced a 32% share loss over the past 12 months.

A-level malls were considered immune to the decline of retail and companies planned to invest in them as hope for smaller retail was dying. This is no longer the case. These high-level malls have experienced massive losses, and retail giants and department stores must change their plans. This is a big sign for retail and for commercial real estate.
