The economy moving on to a growth trajectory is a good thing all around, however, we need to remember that a slowly growing economy will lead to a slowly growing stock market. Which again, is a good thing around, however, regained confidence in the stock market will lead to a shift from bonds to stocks. This shift will increase mortgage rates, which is not good news for those still hoping to buy a home with record low mortgage rates.

It’s not all bad, with mortgage rates going up, the buying frenzy will slow, and prices won’t go up as drastically as they have been. We do need to keep in mind that the United States is facing a real estate supply shortage, which will continue to cause price increases, just at a slower pace once the mortgage rates have their correction.

Times like these are the trickiest for buyers and sellers in the real estate market, they can be even trickier for real estate investors.

Knowing exactly when to buy or if it’s worth waiting another day or week or month. Especially now, since the holiday season always causes a lull in the market with people focused on their families.

Considering the fact that the coronavirus will not allow us to partake in all the activities and festivities of the holiday season, we would have to wait and see just how much activity will slow. Especially since many might still be trying to buy a home before the mortgage rates go back up.
